I got inspiration for my business by nursing my Grandma, when she was ill - CEO Kela Juice

Juicing is coming to Nigeria in a big way, especially now that, everyone has decided to join the fitfam group. If you don't enjoy eating fresh fruits and vegetables, juicing may be a fun way to add them to your diet or to try fruits and vegetables you normally wouldn't eat.

Many smart entrepreneurs are breaking into the market daily through juicing as a livelihood, and from what i have been seeing, the market reception has been really good, especially, since the health benefits is numerous.

Kela juice is one of the lucky few, who chanced on Juicing as a business and she revealed more on her journey in her interview with KMB, excepts below:

Kemi Mobuse blog: Can we meet you?

Kela Juice: I'm Akelachi Kejeh. I've got a first degree in Forestry and wildlife management and an MSc in Environmental Management

Kemi Mobuse blog: What do you do?

Kela Juice: I'm the Founder of Juicy Details Nig. At Juicy Details, our vision is to be the number one go-to-store for healthy fast food. And we started out with our cold press juice brand- Kela Juice.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What inspired your going into this field?

Kela Juice: My inspiration: In 2009, my grandma came down with Cancer. In search for a cure, we came across the Hallelujah Diet (a purely plant based diet). The diet introduced us to juicing and I personally became interested because of the numerous health benefits.
Although my grandmas passed on, juicing has never left my house. So when I came back from studying, I immediately began to think of a business to do (yeah, I'm business conscious like that lol).
I realized that my mum and her colleagues were always asking me to juice for them because they knew the benefits of a healthy diet but no time. So I started selling the juices. And here I am today.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Awwwwww! I’m sorry.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What is the name of your brand and how old is it?

Kela Juice: My brand was formerly Juicy Details but it's now Kela Juice. I started the business in July 2015

Kemi Mobuse blog: How has the market been since inception?

Kela Juice: Due to limitations in equipment, I can say that I am quite unable to meet my daily demands. So, I haven't even done extensive marketing. Just on social media

Kemi Mobuse blog: You kept mentioning "juicing". What does that mean?

Kela Juice: When I say Juicing, I'm basically talking about extracting the juice (no pulp) from fruits and vegetables

Kemi Mobuse blog: What major challenges have you experienced since starting out? How have you overcome those challenges and what have you learnt?

Kela Juice: Major challenge was in sourcing for quality produce. But I got around it by going straight to farms for local produce. Secondly, during juicing, a lot of pulp is produced. I've been able to create a byproduct out of the waste. I can't talk too much about it now, but watch out. 😉

Kemi Mobuse blog: What do you hope to achieve with your brand?

Kela Juice: With Kela Juice, I hope to take the 'unhealthy' out of fast food. Fast food can be healthy. Also want to enlighten people on benefits of a healthy diet. We're doing that through our informative labels.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What advice do you have for future entrepreneurs?

Kela Juice: I'd say this to those who want to start a business: get the requisite knowledge and then take action. No idea is unique to only one person.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Lastly, how can you be contacted?
