Supermarkets have changed over the years, getting bigger, staying open longer and offering a wider variety of food products. But those changes have only just begun. With the internet age, all everyone can think about is convenience while shopping. And that is rarely the case, with the open market.

The CEO of Wangarau foods decided to go with the trends and bring the market to the consumer, instead of allowing them to stress themselves going all the way to the market. She talked more about her brand and what it is all about, in her exclusive interview with KMB excepts below:

Wangarau Foods: My name is Victoria Mamza, I hail from Borno State.  I am the C.E.O of Wangarau Foods.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What is Wangarau Foods about?
 
Wangarau Foods: Wangarau foods is an indigenous food processing and packaging company. We save customers the Time, Hassle, Stress and cost of going to the market by Sourcing, Sorting, Crushing/Grinding, Sealing and Delivering of food items to them.
Kemi Mobuse blog: What motivated your going into this field? 
Wangarau Foods: I saw a need in the market to offer convenient, Quality and affordable food items to customers who do not have the time to go to the market.
Kemi Mobuse blog: How old is your brand now and how has the market reception been?
Wangarau Foods: Wangarau foods started operation in August 2014,
The market reception has been amazing. Customers call us from all over the world for food items delivery. We get messages from people encouraging us too.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What major challenges have you experienced since inception, how did you overcome and what has it taught you? 
Wangarau Foods: The first challenge I experienced was how to bargain with market women, then another challenge was convincing people to patronize us. I had challenges with unstable power supply, regulatory agencies, Finance e.t.c.
I am a determined woman and even though I have experienced a lot of challenges in the course of my entrepreneurial journey, it has taught me to be resilient.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Given a chance to start over, what would you do differently? 
Wangarau Foods: Given a chance to start over, I would have loved to work for some years, save up some cash and gain a little more experience.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Which is your most popular item and what makes it different? 
Wangarau Foods: The most popular item for us is Wangarau foods white Garri. It is different from the Garri that is sold at the open market because we don't source from the open market. It is dried, crunchy tasty and clean.


  Kemi Mobuse blog: What inspired your choice of brand name?

Wangarau Foods: Wangarau is my middle name. I am a northerner from Askira Uba local government area of Borno State.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What are your plans for the future regarding your brand?

Wangarau Foods: I hope to see Wangarau foods in all the countries of the world by his grace.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What advice do you have for upcoming entrepreneurs?

Wangarau Foods: Upcoming entrepreneurs should not allow challenges stop them. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. With God, Determination, Persistence, Patience and resilience and hard work, you can climb the highest mountain.
