The need to make cooking Easy, convenient and less messy inspired me starting my brand - CEO Eazy Coox
By Kemi Mobuse - Monday, April 18, 2016
Its a known fact that; 80% of women who love cooking, rarely enjoy the mundane task that has to be carried out before the actual cooking begins. Speaking for myself, i hate chopping every and anything, period!. Just chop them all up, and give them to me, and i'll cook you a meal meant for a king, hehe!.
So i can certainly relate to the CEO of Eazy coox, who also dislikes this part involved in cooking, but the difference between us , is that, she actually set out to do something about it. but, me too, shebi am putting her out there, so i did something too. lol!
Excerpts from her interview with KMB below:
Kemi Mobuse blog: Can we meet you?
Eazy Coox:
Bolanle Akinyemi
Kemi Mobuse blog: What do you do?
Eazy Coox: I’m an
accountant as well as an entrepreneur. I manage Eazy Coox.
Kemi Mobuse blog: What is Easy Coox all
about?
Eazy Coox: Eazy
Coox is all about making cooking Easy and convenient
Kemi Mobuse blog: And how do you achieve
this?
Eazy Coox: We
currently process Fresh spices into a form that is ready for use once the pack
is opened.
We get the most difficult items that people cook with and do all the hard work so you don't have to. We clean and chop and package into recyclable glass jars.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Can you give an example of
some of the spices you have made?
Eazy Coox: We
Have chopped garlic, chopped ginger, chopped scotch bonnet (rodo).
Kemi Mobuse blog: What inspired your going
into this field in particular?
Eazy Coox: I like to cook but I don't like the hassle of
preparing ingredients. I used to live in the UK where everything was laid out
nicely and can be taken from the shops straight into your pots.
So there were always garlic, ginger, herbs etc
ready to use. Coming back to Nigeria, I found it frustrating when I desired to
cook and had to be chopping ingredients; which discouraged me from cooking. So
each time I went on holiday or travelled, I would bring back a couple of
bottles of the products I used to use in the UK.
But I found out that I ran out of them very
quickly and bottles are very difficult to ask anyone to bring back for you
because of the weight and the risk of breakage
I then wondered why we can't do things properly
in a way that is attractive for people. And really that's how the idea came to
life
Kemi Mobuse blog: How did you start out,
capital wise?
Eazy Coox:
Capital wise, I wouldn't say I got money together to start. I started from my
kitchen. I bought a small home appliance that does what I wanted and started
packaging into plastic packs like they use in eateries for Moin Moin etc
But I still wasn't satisfied with it as I wanted a product that could stand with imported products and people would wonder where it was made?
And because I’m still working; each time I got my salary, i would put something towards it and also get loans from the office.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: What do you aim to achieve with your brand?
Eazy Coox Coox: My dream is for Eazy Coox to become a recognized brand so I made sure I did everything properly. Registered with CAC, TM, NAFDAC etc. And I must say we r still evolving and improving.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What has being an
entrepreneur taught you?
Eazy Coox: Many
things really but, primarily being an entrepreneur has taught me that; there is
never a perfect moment to do anything. Once U think of it, get on with it.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Given a chance to start
over, is there anything, you wished you had done differently?
Eazy Coox: Not at this point. Does not mean I haven't
made mistakes but we learn from mistakes so it's all-good.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Where do you see your brand in five years?
Eazy Coox: Close
to being a household brand in Nigeria.
Kemi Mobuse blog: What advice do you have for future entrepreneurs?
Eazy Coox: The
same advice I was given, just start!
Nothing beats starting a business in something you enjoy.
