When it comes to Fashion, Nigerians fashion designers are setting the pace by breaking new grounds everyday, with their made in Nigeria Outfits, most of which are big hits within Nigeria and a host of other countries. Unlike, their counterparts in other countries though, majority of these fashion designers are self taught, and it is really hard to believe, they never took it further by attending a fashion school, just to hone their skills.
Segun Olowe is one of such, he is a household name to be reckoned with, especially with the unique way his outfits are perfectly and expertly made.
He had an informal chat with KMB, excerpts below:

Segun olowe: I'm
a fashion consultant...I do fashion design, tailoring and styling
Kemi Mobuse blog: What inspired your going
into fashion designing?
Segun olowe: My
love for it basically, it actually came to me naturally, I used to dress well back
then in school and people began coming to me, begging me to follow them shopping,
so, I can offer some fashion advice. From there, the business part came to be,
but the designing and styling parts are inherent

brand and how old is it?
Segun olowe: Finger11 by segun...6 yrs old
Kemi Mobuse blog: How has the market been
since inception?
Segun olowe: Challenging,
but we have been doing wonderfully well.
Kemi Mobuse blog: And how did you start out
capital wise?
Segun olowe: I Borrowed 26k from a friend back then in school,
went to the market to shop for fabrics which I used to make some samples and
marketed them to friends and all...and from there, the rest is history. We now have
2 outlets in Lagos.

favorite part about being a fashion designer?

entrepreneurs?
Segun olowe: It's
not going to be easy, you need to have a fighting spirit and impossible should
never be a word in your dictionary because, it can always be done if u put your
heart to it.
