When my son was about to clock 1 year old and celebrate his birthday party, not that he cares, lol!, i sat down and thought really hard, about how, to make his party fab and uniquely different. Am especially a master of doing things differently from the Norm,i knew; i wanted sparkly, shiny, playful, but bottom line; it should be super fun. 


 God used my sister, to send Mrs Omagbemi my way, she was to deliver to me a bouncing castle for the party when she told me , she does theme decorations and the likes, and recreate what ever fantasy i may have, i knew then that i have found my decorator/planner, and i was really glad i went with her.

 so when i got the chance to interview her, i jumped at it very fast.....

Go Bananas Party Planner: Am an event planner but my specialty is in kiddies parties
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: Why this line of business in particular? What inspired it?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Initially I read and practiced law, but I always had a passion for kids entertainment, one day I just decided to quit my job and go into d business full time

Go Bananas Party Planner: More like scary
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: How did you know for sure it was going to work out?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: I didn't I was just very optimistic. I started out 8 years ago the industry was still small
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: Heya, So you were basically one of the pioneers then?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Not really there were quite a few companies and they dominated the industry

Kemi Mobuse blog: How was the market reception back then?

Go Bananas Party Planner: It was great, people just wanted their kids to have fun and it was so much easier
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: That will make you even more unsure, how were you able to withstand the competition, because here you are, standing tall, after 8 years
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: A lot of hard work, I mean a lot but I had my family supporting me and referring me to their friends

Go Bananas Party Planner: Yes o but they also want discounts!lol!

Kemi Mobuse blog: What made you love children's entertainment in particular?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Am a big kid at heart I love the characters n colours. And i realized with kids entertainment people didn't care if you were popular as long as you had great entertainment they were good

Kemi Mobuse blog: Ha-ha, banana makes me think of monkeys, hehe! Why that, at choice of Name?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Lol, We also have a play park called Go Bananas

Kemi Mobuse blog: Great one@ park, I see it's either go big or go home! Big Congratulations ma.
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: I had a drink I really liked when I lived in England and it had "let the kids go bananas" for some reason I just always loved that phrase.
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: I can imagine! I love it too. I will definitely even take any chance to go bananas if I see it, lol!

Kemi Mobuse blog: What is the motivation that drives you on to succeed in this business?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: I love when clients call me and thank me and my team for a job well done, it really pushes me to do better and strive to be the best
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: And your definition of success is?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Hard work and a lot of patience with a large dose of prayers
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: it’s not having a billion or even 10 billion in your account? Lol!
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: I hope to achieve that in the future lol

Kemi Mobuse blog: Since inception, what major challenges have you faced?

Go Bananas Party Planner: Wow! a lot staff issues, power failure, traffic you name it we have faced it all even difficult clients.
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: Can you expatiate a little on the difficult client issue?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Ok let me point out that 90% of my clients are wonderful but we have some clients who can be so difficult, and not understand that we are only human n we make mistakes sometimes
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: I get, it's only human nature to be that way.
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: What was the worst advice you have received since you started out?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Why do you let clients talk to you like that?

Go Bananas Party Planner: None whatsoever I love my job it keeps me on my toes
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: Starting over, what would you have done differently?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: I would have trained my staff better and bought alot more equipments cos the dollar was N119 then lol
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: Ha-ha! It will still go down to the way, it was before, so there is still a chance to snap up those equipment.
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Fingers crossed
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: In the life of Go bananas CEO, what is a typical busy day like?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Most weekdays we do a lot of administrative work and have meetings with clients to discuss their event. Weekends is another story we are at most venues by 7 am setting up, decorating and putting everything in place.
 
Kemi Mobuse blog: That doesn't seem fun at all, more like it's necessary, lol! But certainly worth it. I believe?
 
Go Bananas Party Planner: Definitely worth it, especially when the client sees the finished work or when d kids eyes light up.

Kemi Mobuse blog: If you were given a chance to talk to one person from history pertaining to your job, who would it be and why?

 
Go Bananas Party Planner: It would be Walt Disney, and thank him for Disneyland
