Beads! Beads!! Beads!! I just can't get enough of beautiful beads!
By Kemi Mobuse - Wednesday, March 02, 2016
After coming across some breathtaking beads designs on Instagram, i found myself short of breath for a second and i couldn't stop myself from fawning and gaping till i was lost for words, so i decided to do some more snooping and see who the brain is behind these beautiful designs.
She happened to be as gorgeous as the beads she makes, lets met the CEO of Ibead Concept:
Kemi Mobuse blog: Good Afternoon Dear, Can we
meet you?
Ibead Concept: Am MUMUNI LARABA SIDIKAT
Kemi Mobuse blog: What do you do?
Ibead Concept: Am a bead maker
Kemi Mobuse blog: You make beads and more? Or
mostly beads?
Ibead Concept: I make beads,Ankara craft( purses and bags)but,
mostly beads.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Why this line of business,
instead of say maybe clothes, shoes or so?
Ibead Concept: I ventured into beads making because it was
something I learnt when I was 15 years old, after my secondary Sch. I loved d
way my mom combines colours when making her batik(Adire).then she advised me
that; a woman must have a handiwork, no matter your level of education because
you don’t know where this world would take you to. From then, I started making
beads for friends as well as simple designs like bangles and earrings. Not
until 2012, did I take BEADING seriously and made different designs for mom, which
she sometime sell off her neck when she attends an occasion. That was how the
interest grew the more and I decided to monetize it.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Awwww. Thats sweet.
Ibeads Concept: Thank u.
Kemi Mobuse blog: So, how old is the business
now and how has the market reception been so far?
Ibead Concept: The business is 4 years now alhamdulilah, I
give thanks to God Almighty. Though, it hasn't been easy meeting and dealing
with different customers but, in all I give my very best to deliver a perfect
work and at the end they are always happy with what I make for them.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Heya. I believe, it can only continue to get better and better, well done dear
Ibead Concept: Amin,by the grace of God.thank you Ma
Kemi Mobuse blog: What challenges have you
faced so far? To nearly discourage you
Ibead Concept: Well, after making some beads for some
customers, they would tell me they have a change of mind after seeing a new
design I just made. Some time when I purchase the beads and they aren't enough,
going back to the market,I might not find that same beads or shade of the
colours anymore,
and that is very discouraging
and that is very discouraging
Kemi Mobuse blog: Chai! That can be pretty
annoying sha.
Ibeads Concept: Really annoying.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Any advice for upcoming
entrepreneurs
Ibead Concept: Yes, my advice to them is move closer to God
and make sure they learn hand work. , be it a man or a woman, especially women
need to have a hand work. Like my mom told me then, no knowledge is a waste and
encouraged me to learn beads making, which I am benefiting from today. Be
determined and Neva let anyone discourage you in what you love doing.
And also, creativity matters in every hand work which makes your work outstanding at any time.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Thank You for your time
dear
Ibead Concept: Thank you too ma.
To my delight, she decided to tease her future customers with some of her absolutely gorgeous designs...
