Starting a new business and needs a digital Marketer? or help setting up your website? Think Big, Think Tinc.
By Kemi Mobuse - Sunday, March 13, 2016

I had no idea, what is involved in digital marketing or
branding a business, till I met Tinc.
He made me understand that, a digital marketer is just like a conductor. Many players, a lot of shiny
noisy instruments and a big audience.
It means understanding the nuances of the new web paradigms
and how they interact. It’s about knowing about how each of
the social and digital channels operate and interact with each other
and the synergies that creates.
It raises questions. How different should
my Facebook post be to my Twitter or Instagram tactics.
What priority should I put on email marketing? How does my content marketing
help build my search engine optimization?
The questions are many and complex.
Tinc have a passion for building great brands. “I see
the potentials that can make a brand unique and appealing to it's target audience,
i therefore work with brand managers or business owners to achieve this”...
KMB sat him down for a chit chat, striving to understand,
what his brand is all about. excerpts below:
Kemi Mobuse blog: Can we meet you?
Tinc: My name is Tobi Banjoko a branding and
digital marketing enthusiast. Currently the lead strategist at TINC
Creative
Kemi Mobuse blog: Branding and digital? As in?
Can you expatiate a little? For the benefits of our readers?
Tinc: I have a passion for building great brands. I see the potentials that can make a brand unique and appealing to its target audience
I therefore work with brand managers or business owners to achieve this; Digital marketing used to be the next thing while I was working in a traditional agency..
Kemi Mobuse blog: How old is your business and how do you get your clients

Kemi Mobuse blog: How old is your business and how do you get your clients
Tinc: I started TINC in school, 2008 and 90% of
clients are based on referrals.
Kemi Mobuse blog: You were a graduate of which school?
Kemi Mobuse blog: You were a graduate of which school?
Tinc: University of Agriculture, Abeokuta
Kemi Mobuse blog: Am an alumnus of Unaab
too
Tinc: Oh really
Kemi Mobuse blog: What is the meaning of TINC
and why that choice of Name?
Tinc: TINC was meant to mean ‘think thank
incorporated’. Hence TINC, however at the point of registering someone had used
think tank enterprises already. So I had to use TINC in another way because
people we're already used to the name
Kemi Mobuse blog: What really inspired the
business idea?
Tinc: The love to see brands grow. Especially
small scale businesses. I always gave advice to friends that ran business in
school. Then I was good with graphics,So I did designs for them and offered
more advice on how they can increase awareness etc
Kemi Mobuse blog: How was starting out like
financial wise for you?
Tinc: Well it was more about the love. I didn't
even have a computer when I started designing. I would borrow a friend’s laptop
to do designs for free. My first computer I bought for 2k. It was scrap sales
at my office. I carried the monitor from Marina to Akowonjo. Lol!
Kemi Mobuse blog: Lmaoooo!, I can imagine how
overjoyed you must have been and even proud! I could just picture you, staring
at the monitor, and beating your chest like a peacock and chanting! I don
hammer ohhh, lol!
Tinc: I didn't sleep that night. Lol!
Kemi Mobuse blog: What motivates you?
Tinc: What motivates me... Mmmm… I think the joy of seeing your works.
Each time i hear the results of what my work has done for a client, I want to
do more. Then I see people doing amazing things in their field, And it lets me
know the possibilities are endless
Kemi Mobuse blog: How was the market
reception when you started out?
Tinc: Well because it was free. Didn’t have much
issues. I would do free logos and go the cafe to buy time and send to clients I
never met. So that helped me hone the skill and understand the customers.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Ha! That's true, we Nigerians love freebies.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Ha! That's true, we Nigerians love freebies.
Kemi Mobuse blog: What challenges have you
had to deal with and how were they resolved
Tinc: Challenges would be scaling,Trying to get
the business from point a to point b on the vision map. I had to bring in other
people on board to handle other aspects of the business. People smarter than me
mostly.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Why other people, where
they able to put across your vision exactly the way you wanted?
Tinc: Yeah actually, some team members are almost
more passionate than me. If I can say that
Kemi Mobuse blog: Is this your only source of livelihood?
Kemi Mobuse blog: Is this your only source of livelihood?
Tinc: No it's not. I worked for a couple of years
and I have other business that I've started. But it's the major.
Kemi Mobuse blog: If you weren't doing this
business, what could you see yourself doing?
Tinc: That's tough; I'll probably be working in an
agency or a firm in a similar industry
Kemi Mobuse blog: Where do you see Tinc in 5
years?
Tinc: The most sought after digital agency in West
Africa
Kemi Mobuse blog: What is your own definition
of being successful?
Tinc: Making positive impact in the lives of
everyone you come across
Kemi Mobuse blog: If you had the chance to
start all over again, what would you have done differently?
Tinc: Mmmm… Make better use of opportunities I
got
Kemi Mobuse blog: What would say, are the top three skills that molded your brand as an entrepreneur.

Tinc: Quality of service, delivering results every

Kemi Mobuse blog: Your most memorable
experience since you started out is?
Tinc: Mmm there's been a couple of them. Seeing
our design on a billboard is one. Getting featured on an international ad
website
Kemi Mobuse blog: Nice one!If you were given
a chance to talk to someone from history, who would it be and why?
Tinc: Andrew Carnegie. The book ‘think and grow
rich’ changed me in many ways. Then l learnt more about him and the other men
who built America.
The power of the mind,He gave my first lessons on the power of the mind and focus.
