Kemi Mobuse blog: Good Evening KF Clothings, Can we meet you?

Kf Clothing: Good Eveing, I’m Sijibomi Juba and I am d P.R.O of KF clothings. A business run and managed by 3 siblings: Olakitan, Sayofunmi and myself. Sijibomi. Olakitan is the brain behind the business.

Kemi Mobuse blog: What does Kf stand for? And what does the business entail?

Kf Clothing: KF actually means Kitan and Friends; it deals with the production and customizing of clothes and FaceCaps.

Kemi Mobuse blog: I like that, totally unique name. Nice one!
You mentioned customization of clothes; do you also make your own designs?

Kf Clothing: Yeah we make our own designs; though majority of the time, we design clothes specifically tailor made to the Client’s taste and choice.
Kemi Mobuse blog: And is it general clothes, or specific? Because I saw a lot of sport wears on your IG page, and I thought, that's what you produce.

Kf Clothing: No, we produce general clothes and also sport wears, company wears or vests. We produce clothes for events also. It also depends on d choice of a client

Kemi Mobuse blog: Ok.... Why clothes? What led you into that field? And brought about the idea of turning it into a business?

Kf Clothing: Olakitan has always been passionate about clothes and has always had a big interest in sewing. Growing up Sean John inspired him a lot but he came to realize that we can create our own "Sean John" here. He loves creativity especially in clothes. He himself has a unique taste for his clothing and he always drives himself to make sure everybody wears what he likes and not just what he/she sees.

Kemi Mobuse blog: Lol! He seems like a special and talented person

Kf Clothing: Yeah he is pretty special, trust me lol!

Kemi Mobuse blog: How did it then become a venture of three siblings combining their talent?

Kf Clothing: We have always been together and we decided to multiply each other's talent to produce the best. Myself, I have a pretty good interacting and marketing skills so I have always been the one trying to make people aware of the clothes and getting customers here to conquer our local market ..
Sayofunmi is good with designing and putting out logos and design.

Olakitan does the major work, sewing the clothes, printing d idea and making it a whole. We decided to be as one and try to make d business grow here without having to spend loads of cash; because of the not so buoyant financial strengths of 3 youths. Lol!
Kemi Mobuse blog: I understand perfectly. After all, two heads are better than one

Kf Clothing: Yesso.
Kemi Mobuse blog: You mentioned “here". Where is "here"?

Kf Clothing: The “here”I mentioned refers to our immediate environment and that is Ondo State. After all there is a popular saying that "charity begins at home" we have to make people here aware and we have done that pretty well as we also deliver nationwide
Kemi Mobuse: Nationwide? Wow! That's really great news. Welldone!

Kf Clothing: Thanks a lot

Kemi Mobuse blog: How old is your business and what have been the challenges so far?

Kf Clothing: It's been over a year now but not yet up to 2 years. Our major challenge has been getting materials and electricity. Quality materials are not sold in Ondo state so we travel to Lagos for that. The issue of electricity on the other hand is obvious. It is not regular, and as a result, on some days, we run the generator 24 hours, which doesn’t help much now, with the way the cost of petrol has been ridiculously high of recent.

Kemi Mobuse blog: I certainly know @ petrol, very ridiculous. But I’m very sure. You guys will weather the storm, since you have been standing for a year, and that is usually the toughest time in the life span of a business

Kemi Mobuse blog: So, which is the worst advice you have received since the inception of your business?

Kf Clothing: A friend said "we have so many customizers around, and they are waaaay cheaper, inspite of that, they don't even last. Just give up and embrace something else"

Kemi Mobuse blog: Ha-ha, why didn't you listen?

Kf Clothing: Because we knew what we wanted and nobody grows without criticism and not very good advice. Gucci might have given up if they had listened to bad advices when coming up: but now am sure you know how great they are and what they produce and even those that criticized them then, are now famzing them.
Kemi Mobuse blog: Now! That's the spirit, I applaud your courage and am sure, it will not go unrewarded.
By the way, is this the main source of livelihood, for the 3 of you?

Kf Clothing: Not really, Sayofunmi works as a teacher and Olakitan just graduated from school and should go for NYSC by March while I myself just finished from school but still awaiting result.

Kemi Mobuse blog: OK, Do you guys intend to go into the business full time later on?

Kf Clothing: Definitely we want to go fully into it and make our product known worldwide. The employment rate in Nigeria isn't encouraging and we already have something we are passionate and can work with so why leave it? Lol!

Kemi Mobuse Blog: That's true. Guess the devil you know is better than the angel you dnt, lol

Kemi Mobuse blog: Any advice for future entrepreneurs

Kf Clothing: The wise will Dream and wake up to chase their dreams while the foolish one will dream and continue sleeping to enjoy the dream. Never give up keep working tomorrow is brighter than today

Kemi Mobuse blog: Thank You. Wise words!

Kemi Mobuse: So, how will you like your future customers to reach you?
