Kemi Mobuse: Can we meet you? What do you do?

Woven Labels: Yes, thanks, I am Temitope Osibajo, a fashion consultant, designer, stylist and brand manager.
I am into the manufacturing business with regards to fashion, clothing and branding in Nigeria.

Kemi Mobuse: What inspired your going into this field?

Woven Labels: Generally speaking, its passion driven together with creativity. I also had encouragement at an early stage to join my Indian trained fashion designer mum in her fashion house. As a creative person, I found creativity in putting pieces together to make good fashion sense and since it started all the way back, the  passion has continued to wax strong.
I am the CEO at The Naija Edition Fashion Co, fashion clothing and branding company doubling as a brand and a manufacturing company for other brand owners home and abroad. (www.naijaedition.com @naijaedition on instagram/twitter).
Whereas, Woven Labels Nigeria (@wovenlabelsnigeria on instagram) is the business that takes charge of fashion brand supplies such as woven labels, clothing tags, paper bags, tag cords, business cards, size stickers, badges, and souvenirs for fashion designers, shoe makers, bag makers, furniture makes, jewelry makers, and so on. I am overseeing the business presently. Inspiration came from experiencing the yearning for these necessary but somewhat difficult-to-get items by the end manufacturers Iisted previously.

Kemi Mobuse: How was starting out for you capital wise?

Woven Labels: We should have needed a lot of capital to start out, but we didn't. We knew we could start small and grow big. We knew we could employ the online presence and work online for publicity, even designing. So it was eventually about having the contacts that are right, a perfect creative team and manufacture heads. For the manufacturing, we have been able to acquire simple machinery; it didn't bore a hole into our account... Other machineries especially the sophisticated ones are indirectly acquired for now. We are still acquiring, however, we deliver.😊

Kemi Mobuse: How does your woven label brand work in regards to branding?

Woven Labels: In branding, the Woven Labels Nigeria (WLN) brand, has been able to take a part of branding as key. The branding the eyes can see. These create a lasting impression in the end users minds about the quality and satisfaction derived.
Our advice to manufacturers in Nigeria as they try to grow the Naira is to also not underestimate these simple brand strategy by using woven labels, tags, branded bags and other souvenirs to boost their company's outlook. This in-turn boost sales.

Kemi Mobuse: How old is your brand now and how has the market reception been since inception?
Woven Labels: Woven Labels Nigeria is less than a year old and reception has been good.

Kemi Mobuse: What major challenges have you had to deal with and what can you say they taught you?

Woven Labels: It has been light. No major one for now. However, I have learnt to be more proactive.

Kemi Mobuse: What words do you live by as an entrepreneur?

Woven Labels: "Go with what you have"

Kemi Mobuse: Any advice for upcoming entrepreneurs?

Woven Labels: Upcoming entrepreneurs should know that Rome was not built in a day. They need to start today or continue in the business and be consistent in giving quality products and services because customer satisfaction is key.
