I have always enjoyed using makeup, trying out different eye
shadow and lip gloss colors. However, I have always wondered why drawing a
black line on someone’s eyelid or darkening the shade of someone’s lips makes
them appear more attractive. For some reason, I am intrigued in finding out why
makeup, which is made up of oils and chemicals nonetheless, allows people to
conceive someone as more being “beautiful.”
I was privileged to have a chat with Celebrity Beautician Mrs Sophia
Idisi the CEO of Bella beauty ng
hair and makeup, who shed more light on the subject of my curiosity, and she enlightened me on the subject and ...I could practically feel the passion she has for what she does, miles away....At the end of the interview, i came away with the feeling that;
"...at the heart of it, makeup isn’t about looking good
-- it’s about feeling good."....
Jojos homemade in collaboration with KMB independence giveaway is finally here..😄😄. We are grateful for your continuous support and patronage. and we have decided to thank you by giving back in the best way we can.......

On one of my numerous snoop-around mode on Instagram, I chanced on the handle " Licky Fingers" and my curiosity got the better of me. I started wondering, why finger licking as a brand name? and in my mind, I concluded that; the soups must be extremely sweet niyen and the person must be really good at her Job to make bold such a claim and name her business that way.
I didn't waste time getting in touch with the brain and beauty behind the brand;Idowu
Adebola Ajayi and Boy!..was I glad I did? Read her chit chat with KMB below and then, feel free to go the extra mile and place an order today....
When it comes to relationships, I realized too late that:
all the books I have been reading rarely ever prepare me for the harsh
realities of the dating world, I always end up going into those relationships
with rose coloured tinted glasses and leave with red eyes brimming with hot
tears, no one kuku send me! LOL!😉
Looking back though, I learnt the hard way that: it was not usually all good or all bad....I oftentimes come away with something positive: a lesson learned and a value
gained, truth is; I wouldn't go back and do anything differently. {maybe
in my dreams sha 😝}. Afterall; It's never worth regretting
something you once wanted.
Thinking back, there was probably nothing anyone could've
said to me that would've changed my mind. Some lessons I only learned after
my relationship ended.
Here are some things my past relationships taught me about
love and life....who knows who may learn a thing or two from it...:
Since my growing up days, Ankara is the one familiar thing
that I noticed never quite seem to go out of style. It may go on hiatus for some
months, but then, it has the knack for coming back with a big bang….even better
adaptable than before. In my over thirty something years on this earth, I can
definitely say that; I have seen Ankara take up all shapes, colours and uses.
Gone were the days, when Ankara is sewn only to be worn on special occasions as
Aso- Ebi and the likes.
Nowadays, all it takes is you coming across a gorgeous
style, and then setting off to the market to get yourself one beautiful Ankara cloth.
And since Fashion is our middle name; KMB has taken the time
to put together some cute styles that you just can’t afford to resist…. check them out below....
To the Glory of God, I was privileged and lucky to start working immediately after I was done with NYSC. Even though, it was in a totally unrelated field to what I majored in: ANIMAL NUTRITION...Hehe! I was still Thankful to have a regular paycheck and a means to take care of myself.
By the second year though! I became restless and bored. I decided to try my hands at selling laptops, which I did for a while...I used my fashion acumen and ordered for ladies clothes from the UK , I did that for a while too until I took in with my first baby....Then, back to work and the feeling of restlessness set in again...that was until I spoke to my dear friend..Segun Ojewale who advised me to start this blog....and there was my fulfilment right there!
I prayed to God, to grant me wisdom, and help me to keep going, well! after a year...here I am...who says God doesn't answer prayers?
I can therefore relate to Mrs Gigi's search for fulfillment and her interview with KMB makes for an enjoyable read....
Thinking back to the first time that; I
came across soaps on Instagram that resembles candies, chocolates and all
edible sweets that I only dream about…Chai! My tummy went into overdrive,
rumbling away….Iyanmi! who send me? At least, I can’t deny that I love food,
provided sweets can be called that…Hehe 😋😋😋😋😋
My tongue nko? Who would have thought that; soap would make
my mouth water? Kemi ooooh ! Sigh!😀😀😀
No matter your palette or dietary
restrictions, Dew of Hermon Soap probably makes something you'd want to eat for
dinner (or save for dessert!). While these products are definitely not the
safest to ingest, the scented soap contains shea butter and more that will
cleanse and hydrate your skin.
Having a chitchat with the creative brain
behind the brand is my highlight of the day, I learnt a lot and trust me, you
will love it too…..
The first time I was opportuned to meet Mr Bayo Ademiluyi (founder of Ty-tys) was at the Chevron (Afro-centric) bazaar. It was so random as one of the Bellafricana team had just posted an article about Ty-tys which caught my attention. Mr Ademiluyi is very jovial, down to earth and talented of course. I couldn’t help but interview him to hear the story of how Ty-tys came about. Read the Interview below:
So I came across these beautiful Authentic Export Quality Thorn Carvings by Master Craftsman Pa Zaccheus Oyesiji on a Bell Africana's page and I couldn't help but share. They are quality arts that will be well appreciated by genuine art lovers and I bet a host of them will pay a fortune , just to own one.
It’s that time of year again – time for us moms to buy our kids fresh
new school supplies, time to purchase exciting new curriculum and books for the
upcoming school year, and don’t forget that amazing new fall wardrobe that will
be way too warm to wear for another couple of months. 😀
I remember the first time I took in, I was overjoyed to a stupor and in my mind, I was already dreaming of holding my baby girl in my arms, combing her hair and buying her beautiful dresses and shoes.Choi!I have even built her a dollhouse in my dream,Hehe!
Fast Forward to three months after, I impatiently awaited the result of the scan, the doctor assured me, the baby is healthy and its a girl! haha! I was overjoyed, I jumped up and down, forgetting that, being a pregnant woman, I was supposed to behave gently! Yimu!
Five Months after, You should have seen me waddling to the market with my equally pregnant bestie, she was even pregnant with twins sef 😆😆😆. The two of us waddled up and down buying everything that we could, she was cautioning me against buying lot of pinks, I agreed, but once her back is turned, I'll quickly add another pink item. 😜😜.
At one point, the money I had on me got exhausted, I wasn't done ohhh, rara! I was still looking for feathered shoes with blings, I carried myself to the atm and withdrew more. Infact, I was very certain that the market itself got tired of me that day, lol!
Gradually, the pregnancy advanced, and at the next scan, the same doctor kept clearing his throat...Haaaaa!Iyanmmi, but Dr, why the throat clearing now? I asked tentatively, He said " Emmmm!Madam, it seems its a boy ohhhh!
I turned my head properly to read his mouth fully, believing my ears were playing their usual tricks, my brain on its own started remembering the large suitcase full of pinks...I said; Sir, please check well abeg! Call Dr Edwards to double check too.
Dr Edwards, took one look at my face, and hightailed it out of the clinic. Dr Doyin kept glancing at me, and said he checked again ohh, Its a boy.....I screamed Hian!!!!!!!! How could you tell me he was a girl?I couldn't even get angry...I just hissed, carried my bag and went to another clinic....the result, was same...Its a bouncing baby boy....Don't ask me what happened to my box of clothes ohhh! Il give you my friends number , you can call to ask her instead. hahaha.
I sha kept two of those clothes for myself, for NO.2, who also turned out to be a cute boy...I sigh in spanish....
So coming across Bibi's designs on Instagram, made me want to try again, but these boys don show me shege. Chai!! I cannot come and resemble giraffe, biko! Let me just keep looking and admiring from afar.😳😳😳😳😳😳
Bibi's designs are sooooo cute for days, that it will make your womb ache. The lady behind the brand is also an inspiration on her own, and I assure you, hers is a story worth reading.....
Starting the new school year can be a time of great excitement… and anxiety. Help calm your child’s fears (and your own) with these teacher-approved tips.
I was privileged to share my hearing journey on a Facebook Group page called FIN. It is a women's advocate group, that every single woman would be happy to be a part of....Its another family worth having and home away from Home. After I posted my story, the response was tumultuous, amazingly positive and supportive....It felt like I have finally found my reason for going through the pain....To Inspire someone out there. One good thing came out of this; I got approached by a lot of individuals; going through same issue, some by themselves, for others; it's their family member or relative. and this made my heart ache afresh and makes me more determined to renew my promise to launch my Foundation and NGO to deal with it all. I have began to put the processes into place, and God helping me, it will come to light sooner than later....Amen.... so, back to the story.........
Just goes to show that: while there is life, there is hope....No one can define you, only you can define yourself, and the only definition that matters in the long run is..YOURS and YOURS ALONE!
You may be called Deaf, like I was once, You may be called Lame, like she was once called but
Remember the words of this great man;― Stephen Hawking......
Have you ever found yourself; being dragged off by an over enthusiastic friend, who was overly eager to show off a piece of art on the wall of her newly decorated living room? And all the while your friend was happily gushing about her newest acquisition; all you were doing was grinning like a cheshire cat, and nodding your head sharply at just the right moment...... simply because; you have absolutely no idea what the heck you were gazing at , or what she was rambling on about...I sha know, well...right there...doing the happy nodding is me, Lol!I sha know that, I was supposed to be happy for my friend and agreeing to everything and anything she says, Hehe!
Truth is; when it comes to art, I am the happy illiterate....Lol! at least, that was until I started Blogging.
I was therefore absolutely awed when I came across the beautiful handcrafted flower vases that made by @Kraftii Fox. They were simply breathtaking, and a delight to look at....... I therefore made it my duty to get to know the brain and beauty behind this beautiful Work....On getting to chat her up, I discovered that; She is as stimulating as her works and her interview with KMB makes for a scintillating read....
