By Kemi Mobuse - Wednesday, August 30, 2017
Looking back at my University days, which
thankfully ended in 2010, after 7 years of torture 😜thanks
to ASUU, I remember looking forward to graduation and the future, with so much
hope...Believe me, I already had an idea of where I was going to work - In a Bank,
Live - No where but Lekki and even the Colour and shape of my wedding dress 😑😑😑,
C'mon you can't blame a babe for dreaming , hehe! Long story short, just where
I live is the only part of my dream that came true....Lol!
To the Glory of God though, I found myself
working in an Estate Management Field, and it became imperative for me to think
of starting a business to be my second source of income.....thinking about it
was scary, starting out sef was even more daunting, I therefore give kudos to
those that have the guts to start out, no matter how small...because like I
have often heard, 'no one knows tomorrow'
Kalos health and Beautiful started out trying to
correct a wrong;...How Moringa is being packaged, and yet, here they
are....expanding daily....speaking with the Development Director of the
Company; Adeola Odeyemi I got more insight into who they are as a
company and what they do.....Read on below...
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Can we meet you? What do you
do?
Kalos Health & Beauty: My
name is Adeola Odeyemi. I'm the business development director of Kalos Health
and Beauty Company.
The Company was founded by Dr Mrs Olabosipo
Osude.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: When and how can you say Kalos Health and beauty came to be?
Kalos Health & Beauty: Kalos
Health and Beauty was registered in 2012, we first started out with our moringa
tea, moringa powder, moringa oil and moringa seeds but later expanded to
moringa based beauty products like our Moringa Papaya soap, moringa facemask,
moringa lip balm, moringa brightening Sugar scrub etc
We manufacture natural products ranging from our
organic moringa products to zobo tea to virgin cold pressed Coconut oil. We
have also recently started organic farming.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Moringa seems to be the major
product you work with; may I ask why that is?
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Can you tell us how you went
about starting out, Capital wise et al.
Kalos Health & Beauty: We
basically started small.
First off, using kitchen sized equipments and
growing our moringa at home before we got a larger farm space and then the
technology incubation center in Ogun state which helped us expand our
production capacity.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Nice one! What major challenges
have you had to deal with since inception?
Kalos Health & Beauty: Major
challenge had been getting NAFDAC approval, although there are claims the
processes have been simplified but, it's still a hassle.
Plus the Nigerian factor of getting reliable
staff and the fact that the cost of production is high; seeing as we have to
power ourselves with generators. We also had to deal with equipments that keep
breaking down
Kemi Mobuse Blog: How has it helped you grow?
Kalos Health & Beauty: We've
learnt to rely mostly on ourselves to be honest and also push for market share
to enable us reach our full potential.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: What do you set out to achieve
with your brand?
Kalos Health & Beauty: We
hope to be in every household with our natural products be it cosmetic or
health
Kemi Mobuse Blog: And where do you see your brand
in the next five years?
Kalos Health & Beauty: We
hope to have fully kitted our newly acquired farm land and grown every aspect
of the business.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Looking at some of the juices on
your pages, is it safe to assume that your brand is all about healthy living as
well as weight loss?
Kalos Health & Beauty: We
are more healthy living than weight-loss, we also have organic chickens
and other vegetables we hope to increase capacity for.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Any advice that you will offer
entrepreneur intending to venture into same field?
Kalos Health & Beauty: Research
is important. Also, please try to avoid shortcuts to achieving your set goals.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Can you tell us what each of your
products, or at least some is intended to achieve?
Kalos Health & Beauty: The
moringa line is meant to promote healthy living making sure everyone gets
enough vitamins and nutrition.
- The coconut oil which is our most versatile product has so many uses. We will love to have the 4.5ltr in every kitchen and the 450 or 125ml in every bathroom.
- The zobo is also meant to promote healthy living providing a natural healthy substitute for sodas especially with our team bags which can be brewed n taken hot or refrigerated for cooling refreshments.
Kemi Mobuse Blog: Lastly, how can you be contacted?
Kalos Health & Beauty: We
have our store at 2b Odunayo Adeyemi close off Emmanuel Keshi road, Magodo,
