Tobi Fletcher popularly called “the Ofada boy” is not just an Ofada boy by name, it is a representation of his family genealogy. Tobi is an original indigene from Ofada town, Obafemi Owode Area of Ogun State, a place famous for the production of local ofada rice. 

With his great grandfather being among the first set of farmer to plant the ofada rice, Tobi sure has the ofada blood running in him.  He is a graduate of Microbiology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, where he found his passion.

It can be hard to let the things that other people do to you slide especially when it seems as if you have become target practice for them to learn how to treat other people badly. Most times you are tempted to lay a trap for them to fall into so that you can wreak your vengeance on them. Other times, you just want to say hurtful things to them so that they can feel the way you do because it is beginning to seem like your silence or deliberate ignorance of the payback rules makes you seem like too much a coward. So you lash back once, and it feels good. 

The truth is that while it might feel empowering and strong at first, soon enough you get tired of always paying back but you are also tired of being walked upon besides it does feel good to put them in their place.

Being the better person starts with one incident. When you say no to the urge to hurt someone as much as they hurt you even once, you will discover that filling your mind with negative thoughts full of anger and revenge takes up all the space in your mind for good and positive thoughts. Keeping this in mind, you would find it very easy to live life for yourself instead of living it for other people and trying to please them at the cost of your own happiness. Get yourself a paper and write down all the things you want to do for yourself and then proceed to do it. Live to please yourself….. and learn these things just like I have…

Once school is over, you discover that real life is extremely busy 😓😓😓. Between bitching sessions about Buhari and his alleged incompetence in ruling the Country, or fuming at your ex’s new polyamorous lifestyle on Snapchat and being at the desk for a 9-5 job that stresses you so much you have no social life, who has time to actually form an coherent opinion about all the art constantly on view? Certainly not me! I know next to nothing about Art to be honest 😆

On completion of my secondary school education at the age of 14 years, I barely knew how to cook. I was only able to cook rice, beans and make Eba..And no! I don’t love food, for those wondering…lol!😀 

All that changed when I got to my granny’s place in Ibadan, there my male cousin taught me how to make Moi-moi 🙈 and I learnt, how to make those extremely soft “amala” that goes with Gbegiri soup on my visit to one mama put joint…I practically memorized my way to cooking…before I could say Jack, I made my first pot of soup and paraded it around the house. Grandma praised me to the heavens as if I won a Jackpot and I reveled in the praises like a proud peacock 💪😛😛(she later told me, after I went pro, that, she was “yimu”ing at me..that at my age! ) but who cares….me sha don learn how to cook….😏😜

As time went on, I discovered food condiments, I realized they save me a lot of stress and make my food very delicious with little efforts.  For instance, I close from work by 5.30, and despite getting home by 6.20, I can easily whip up a plate of jollof ready to be eaten By 7.30 pm….thanks to spices  after all…..”Obetodun, owo lo pa”...(a delicious pot of soup is money well spent)😜

The love we had for fine art in secondary school was second to none, because that was usually the best chance and opportunity to showcase your artistic side.  You can therefore imagine the joy and thrill that coursed through our young bodies when we were told, we will be learning how to make Adire fabrics (Adire in Yoruba means tie and dye).

Meeen!!! Any chance for me, to get my hands dirty...I’ll have gladly jump at…being a good girl don tire me jare. I barely ate on the D-day and I was the first one to get to the class. The teacher took us through the step by step process of how to turn a plain white cloth to the patterned adire one we see daily, it was an awesome experience and there and then, I was determined to become an Adire maker….YIMU! it was the same way, I wanted to become a doctor, yet, I will faint at the MERE sight of blood, a Nurse…yet I can barely stand still to take an Injection, infact, I still scream and dance around like someone who just got bitten by a rabid dog (I will deny this anywhere sha oh!)

Today, this beautiful work of art that comes in diverse forms has found its way back into the market and promises to stay for a long while. With the intricate details, artistic nature and cultural background of the fabric, the love affair between art and fashion continues to burn.

A young Nigerian lady identified as Beauty Martins has shown how creative she can be with her incredible talent of transforming waste into tangible items. The young lady transforms tyres into household furniture. Martins who is based in Port-Harcourt goes to dumpsites to source for used tyres and turn them into masterpieces that can be used at home. She makes items like table centerpieces, comfortable chairs and so on.

For those who have no idea, what this means;

Coming across this quote, reminds me powerfully of reasons to be thankful, NO MATTER WHAT!!!. there are so many things I don't have, and I never stop wishing, but when I step back and look at my life, I realize how genuinely lucky I am and on those days, when I forget, I remember the below scenarios and I quickly get myself together once again.....

My favourite food is cake…….. the kind of cake doesn’t matter as long as it’s all cake. 😀😀😀To me; Cake is happiness; I am of the belief that, if you know the way of a cake, then you know the way of happiness! If you have a cake in front of you, you should not look any further for joy.

This right here is why I always wished all my problems were just a piece of cake. Eat it entirely and then it's all gone, Yimu!!! 😝Times without number, I always wanted to have my cake and eat it. But then again, what was i going to do with my cake if not eat it?
