After opening a page for my blog on Instagram, I came across Bellafricana's page by chance and I noticed that she was doing exactly what I had always dreamt of doing .....promoting Nigeria Talents and Services...I loved her page and I followed her immediately. The passion that Bukky exudes when it comes to all things African is not easily explained and this led us to having a Chit chat with her to tell us about her brand, Bellafricana and all it stands for.

The First Time I bought an Ankara palm slipper, was during my service year in 2010, even though; the guy had to do a lot of sweet talking and cajoling, I eventually caved and got myself one cute one. I fell in love with it and it became my constant companion for close to two years 😜😜😜 {Yes, I keep shoes that long}.
When the slippers eventually got tired of all the abuse I put it through, it angrily committed suicide, 😭😭😭😭by then; I was soooo in love with it but, the foolish thing broke my heart and there in begins my search for a suitable replacement which led me right to why KMB came to be!
Coming across Abike style Vogue brand on IG reminded me of my beloved palm slippers, in that; she understood the craft the right way and have the know-how to interpret exactly what resonates with her customers. She spoke at length about her brand and its impact on Nigeria and the Global world as a whole... Read below:
Back during my University Days, I was invited to a wedding somewhere in the remote town of Abeokuta...The party babe in me was overjoyed to wake up the party slayer in me, as in! I slayed to the nines and I was determined to come home with my husband to be that day!😛😛😛 A girl can dream right? We chartered a Cab to take us to the venue. Meanwhile; in my head, I was already picturing the Small chops, barbecue, roasted chicken and the likes I was going to consume, while very conscious of the fact that: my belle MUST NOT protrude from my cloth, which means little or no Water, Hehe!!! (to slay na beans?) The cab journey sha went on and on and on...mogbe!😔😓 my make up was beginning to melt, my shoes were pinching me and we never even got there.....Haaaa! We finally got to the venue, after like an hr of travelling, then; I almost refused to get down. Why was because. the wedding venue was like something from a horror movie, not only was it in a village; the only canopy there, was barely enough to cover those sitting in the scorching sun....Choi! I nearly wet myself when I realized; I was overdressed and my make up was ruined. I knew then that; I was gonna go home hungry! Since the food there was Jollof rice with tough cow meats, as well as Amala! and, It barely even went round...nothing resembling puffpuff at all....Infact; I was very sure that; if any man were to put a gun to my head then and there and propose to marry me, I will just remove my shoes with lighting speed, pull up my dress and Run!!! I cannot come and die ooo jare!

To the Glory of God, I was privileged and lucky to start working immediately after I was done with NYSC. Even though, it was in a totally unrelated field to what I majored in: ANIMAL NUTRITION...Hehe! I was still Thankful to have a regular paycheck and a means to take care of myself.
By the second year though! I became restless and bored. I decided to try my hands at selling laptops, which I did for a while...I used my fashion acumen and ordered for ladies clothes from the UK , I did that for a while too until I took in with my first baby....Then, back to work and the feeling of restlessness set in again...that was until I spoke to my dear friend..Segun Ojewale who advised me to start this blog....and there was my fulfilment right there!
I prayed to God, to grant me wisdom, and help me to keep going, well! after a year...here I am...who says God doesn't answer prayers?
I can therefore relate to Mrs Gigi's search for fulfillment and her interview with KMB makes for an enjoyable read....
Thinking back to the first time that; I
came across soaps on Instagram that resembles candies, chocolates and all
edible sweets that I only dream about…Chai! My tummy went into overdrive,
rumbling away….Iyanmi! who send me? At least, I can’t deny that I love food,
provided sweets can be called that…Hehe 😋😋😋😋😋
My tongue nko? Who would have thought that; soap would make
my mouth water? Kemi ooooh ! Sigh!😀😀😀
No matter your palette or dietary
restrictions, Dew of Hermon Soap probably makes something you'd want to eat for
dinner (or save for dessert!). While these products are definitely not the
safest to ingest, the scented soap contains shea butter and more that will
cleanse and hydrate your skin.
Having a chitchat with the creative brain
behind the brand is my highlight of the day, I learnt a lot and trust me, you
will love it too…..
