According to Tomisin, the app was created to help people know their present geographic location and find their way home, especially for children her age. Another special feature of the app is that it has an alert button that once tapped calls the Lagos State emergency number, 767, giving one the opportunity to be rescued from threatening emergencies and distress situations.
It was learnt that the app was immediately uploaded online and available for free download from the Google Store.
This invention is a testament to the fact that Nigeria has brilliant minds and that age is not a prerequisite to impact the society positively. #younginnovators.
It also confirms Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg’s statement on his last visit to the country that Nigeria was blessed with focused youths who in the future “will emerge as Nigeria’s industry captains and will become tomorrow’s entrepreneurial giants like Bill Gates and the Google boys, among others.”
