The first time, I tried my hand at interior
decorating; was when I got my first accommodation as a University Student. It
was my first time of living alone and I was determined to make my room the envy
of my colleagues, {as if they cared} lol!but guess what? No Money!!! At least,
not the kind I thought I needed.
I decided to trust my gut and use what I
have which included among other stuffs: a love frame given to me by an ex-boyfriend
and a hand painted image of me, by another ex..hehe! (all na Décor). By the
time I was done, I was surprised at our beautiful my room looked and everyone
who came to visit me was impressed too! I learnt there and then that;
decorating a house/home had very little to do with money and more to do with
creativity.
Barefeet Décor is one hell of a creative brand;
their products are not only unique but also eye catching. I especially love the
fact that, their products encompasses every area of a home and everyone in the
home, including the household pets.
I am even more amazed at the fact that,
despite the challenges we are facing as a country, our culture and way of life
is well appreciated by foreigners and the story behind this brand makes for a
captivating read….
When I found I was pregnant, I was excited when the Dr
told me, it was a girl. Omo Mehn! I was practically walking on the moon😀😀😀. My
husband couldn’t care less about which sex it was. He sha wanted a baby Lol!.It
was around the same time, I discovered Instagram. While doing my usual gbeborun
about and stalking celebrities, I happened across some awesomely cute crocheted
girls dresses, which made me drool and I started screenshoting away, hoping to
buy them all. I ended up with close to 100 screenshots when I mistakenly read
the caption and saw the price….I let out a loud scream because one dress is 12k…hian!bet why evils????😖😒
As if that was not enough to deal with, the next day, was my 6 months scan, Dr sha kept clearing his throat, while moving the scanner
around, after the third throat Clearing, I asked, Sir, are you ok?
He replied:” Em! Mrs Mobuse, it seems this your baby is a
baby is a boy ohh….I stood up and glared at him, I said, what the heck are you
talking about? After my trip to Eko and my Instagram shopping?
On remembering the Instagram shopping, Iyanmi!!!!😟 I silently
breathe a sigh of relief, thinking…..not today Devil! I shall not go broke! Not
today!!! That didn’t stop me from quietly wishing though and eyeballing pretty
babies dressed in gorgeous crocheted dresses and accessories.
My love for Crochets is unwavering and I know God will
answer a lil lady’s prayers…..someday…..Babies are the reason that
Temi_crochets came into being and her love for the craft is second to none.
Temilade decided to make something of her hobby and passion and hers is a story worth
reading and sharing …read below:
My love for bags could be described as cultivated through Mischief 😀😀😀. While growing up, our Mum love taking us on a visit to one of her brother's house. His love for fish and sugar coated groundnut is totally unrivaled, we ended up calling him, "Daddy Eleja" (Daddy who has fish or so...Lol). Every time, we got there, he delighted in serving us fried Fish as well as groundnut and when its time to leave, he always encouraged us to pack as much fish and groundnut as we can. My brothers had no qualms filling up their pockets and since,we girls had no pockets, we resorted to using our clothes to pack ours. The boys would tease us, about our undies showing which would make us spill the contents of the clothes on the ground, in order to protect our modesty. I decided there and then to play a fast one on them...On our next visit to Daddy Eleja, I was prepared. I whipped out one of Mum's handbag that I had concealed under my clothes and packed enough fish and groundnut to fill up the bag...Poor Mummy was astounded at my gluttony and beat me mercilessly when we got back home, but hey, who cares..I had enough feast fit for a King and I ate it all alone...Hehe😏.
That mentality, that I can always do more with a bag , stayed with me, and I hardly ever stepped out without one. Along the way, I developed a taste for unique bags and I was captivated when I came across those made by Helade & Sola. To say, I went into stalking mode was an understatement. Read the story and inspiration behind the brand below....
I have been there, done that and gotten hurt. When I say go where the love is, some of you wouldn't understand but I do. Look, your self esteem is very important, if it has been tampered with, hmmm!!!!there is little to what you will be able to achieve in life, so don't let anyone play you.
Nigerian designers have been springing up day by day with them
making a 'style show' on Instagram especially, which has become a hub of all things
fashionable and these list below some of whom, I have showcased on the blog are
definitely making waves or about to.....
My aim here is to bring awareness to local Nigerian
designers by showing off those wearing their outfits at public events making
them go from obscurity to popularity. Each of these designers is unique and
different but all had one thing in common. They are youthful, trendy, urban and
chic. Here below, I have listed the designers showcasing their work and
information about them.

A Happy new month to you all, and welcome to December...Do you realize its just 24 days to Christmas?? It seems just like yesterday we all screamed happy new year...Well, I'm glad and also thank God for leading us from January to this moment, its really not easy, but His grace that has led us thus far will see us through. Amen. This year has been full of ups and down, even though there is more of Ups than down, but I have every reason to be thankful and I know you do too. Anyways, this is me wishing you the best in this new month. God Bless you all. Cheers.
Growing up, I have always been surrounded by Jewelries, infact, my mum God Bless her soul, see it as an unforgivable crime for her children to go out without Jewelries, in her mind, she was like..."God forbid, they think she is poor" and to show how rich she is, Mama end up dressing us girls in colourful beads, bangles and earrings all at once, she would round off the look by dressing us in high heeled shoes thick enough to break cement 😀😀😀. One would think the boys would be left out, for where? they had to have their hairs parted and creamed till its shining like that of a peacock....in short, mama no dey carry last, kapish!
Since then, I have found it extremely difficult to step out without jewelries on, and should I forget to wear one, I'll feel totally naked throughout the whole day....
Giving confidence to the wearer is what Designer Doubara is aiming to achieve with her brand, allowing them to express their personality through her jewelries is her mission and making a difference with her brand is her motto.....in her session with KMB, she talked about her passion for jewelries, her dreams for Zivanora and more.....please read below...
