First of all guys, I owe you all, a sincere and even loooooong apology for my unexplained absence, it was due to unavoidable circumstances, but trust me, I am back and has a lot of new stuff to share with y'all and while on that, let me gist you.....I was privileged to come across an interesting Lady with a very unique talent and Gift to offer all.......

If you have been one of those Moms, who have had to deal with toddlers, who simply refuse to eat all the food offered them, then you can readily understand what I'm getting at. Infact, I tell you freely, my nephew is one of those, he survives solely on pizza, jollof rice, bananas, apples and biscuits, Kapish! beans, yams, fried rice, any form of swallow are totally alien items to him. I really feel for his Mom, because my own son can help you clear your kitchen and even your toilet, if he happens to find food there, lol!

It was therefore refreshing to come across,a lady with firsthand experience in dealing with picky eaters and has a refreshing perspective to offer. No matter, how bad you think it is, Trust me, she gat your back, and she will get your baby eating in no time at all.She gives out food recipes for free and only suggest the easiest and simplest food for even the most busy Mom out there......Read below, her short chat with KMB and some of her own food items and  recipes after the cut...

KMB: Can we meet you? What do you do?

Augusts secrets: My name is Oluwatoyin Onigbanjo, a mom, home cook, writer, teacher and journalist. A journalist by day...Lol

KMB: What inspired your starting Augusts secrets?

Augusts secrets: I started Augustsecrets Nigeria with inspiration from my son Jaden who is a fussy eater. As a baby, he rejected all the store-bought baby food I bought for him, so I made pap, and other homemade and he grew up solely on that. As a toddler, he changed again, and became very picky with food. so I started finding ways to get him to eat healthier food in a fun way. From then, I saw that more moms needed the same with their children, so I started Augustsecrets to help.

KMB: How old is Augusts secrets now?

Augusts secrets: Augustsecrets is informally 8 months old, but formally 2 months old.

KMB: Also, why this choice of Name?

Augusts secrets: I was born in August, and I see it as a honourable month. I also have ideas/secrets that are divinely given to me, so I called it Augustsecrets. I however wish to call it Augustsecrets Baby Kitchen, but people prefer Augustsecrets, so I just left it.

KMB: How has the market reception been since inception?

Augusts secrets: Market reception has been ok. There are babies/toddlers being fed wrongly everywhere.😆

KMB: Any major challenges since starting out?

Augusts secrets: There have been challenges of getting things done in the right way, and attending to the many questions and concerns that moms have in feeding their babies/children. Baby food blogging/manufacturing is not a child's play. 😆 Another Challenge for me  is  Combining Augustsecrets with my day job as a journalist. It is 😠😠😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 ......

KMB: Where and how do you get inspiration for your recipes?

Augusts secrets: I get inspiration for my recipes divinely. Sometimes, I don't know myself. 😅 Before posting a recipe, I would have tried it up to 5 different times.

KMB: Any advice for moms to be out there?

Augusts secrets: I advice moms to stop giving their babies sugary foods, appetite-inducing drugs, and highly-processed foods like fizzy drinks and junk foods. Preschoolers and  school-age children should be given more fruits and vegetables. Moms should also get help on feeding their babies/children instead of making assumptions.

KMB: Lastly, how can you be contacted?

Augusts secrets: I can be contacted on:
